Job description

A secondary school, located in the heart of Wigan, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Science Teacher to join their dynamic team from September 2025. If you have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential, we would love to hear from you!

The Role:

As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated to succeed.
  • Support students in achieving academic excellence, with a focus on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical skills.
  • Contribute to the extracurricular activities in the department, such as science clubs or events.
  • Work closely with a supportive team of educators to continually improve teaching methods and student outcomes.

We are looking for a Science Teacher who:

  • Holds a relevant degree and qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Has a passion for science and the ability to inspire students in their learning.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and current educational trends.
  • Is committed to promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ideally has experience teaching at secondary level, although newly qualified teachers (NQTs) are encouraged to apply.
