Job Title: Secondary Science Teacher
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £170 - £200 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-time

Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Science educator ready to engage and inspire secondary students?

GSL Education are recruiting a dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Chesterfield. This is a full-time teaching opportunity, offering an immediate start for a qualified teacher ready to make a positive impact.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to teach up to Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will work closely with a collaborative Science department to promote a love of learning and foster academic progress in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons by the National Curriculum.
  2. Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and intervention.
  3. Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that supports all learners.
  4. Utilise practical experiments and contemporary scientific resources to enhance understanding.
  5. Support students in developing critical thinking and scientific reasoning skills.
  6. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including parents' evenings and extracurricular activities.

Science Teacher Requirements:
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in Science.
  2. Experience teaching Science at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum.
  3. A proven track record of raising student attainment and delivering outstanding lessons.
  4. Subject specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is desirable, but a strong general Science background is essential.
  5. Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  6. A valid UK driving licence and the ability to commute to school.
  7. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
