Secondary School Teaching Assistants (SEMH)

Long-term Teachers Ltd is working with a fantastic secondary special school in Bristol seeking 3 Teaching Assistants to join their enthusiastic team from September on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate should be passionate about inspiring young minds and making a positive impact on their education. The school is an integral part of the community and plays a pivotal role in the futures of its students.

The school is located across 2 sites in Bristol and is dedicated to supporting students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH) among other special needs and disabilities.

  • Role: Teaching Assistant (ages 11-16)
  • Start Date: September
  • Location: BS10, Bristol
  • Contract: Full-time, Long-term/Permanent (either September or immediate start)
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing emotional support to students across the school
  • Assisting teachers with lesson planning and classroom management
  • Providing 1-1 support for students with SEMH & ASD
  • Being proactive in supporting students
Requirements:
  • Experience working with secondary-aged children, preferably in the UK
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for mental health in education
  • Team Teach training (preferred)
