Secondary School Teaching Assistant - SEND Support (Year 7)
Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (September 2025 - July 2026)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Salary: 88- 95 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a Year 7 female pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a secondary school in Bolton. This role involves assisting the pupil in both whole-class lessons and one-to-one sessions, helping her to overcome academic challenges and achieve her full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a Year 7 pupil with SEND, ensuring her engagement and participation in lessons.

  • Assist in the delivery of a differentiated curriculum, adapting resources and activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.

  • Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to monitor and track the pupil's progress.

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging the pupil's independence and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEND, preferably in a secondary school setting.

  • Understanding of a variety of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional/behavioural difficulties.

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude towards supporting students with additional needs.

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with students, staff, and parents.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEND-specific training) are desirable but not essential.
