Job description

Class Act Teaching Services are currently looking for a Secondary School Teaching Assistant for a role in Reading. This Secondary School Teaching Assistant positionstarts in September 2025and is a fixed term contract for one full academic year with the potential to be extended.

The school are looking for someone who has a genuine passion with working with Secondary School age children and seeing them grow both academically and as individuals. It is a full time role, Monday to Friday during school hours.

Role of a Secondary School Teaching Assistant:

• Able to support the students in the class under the direction of the class teacher
• Upkeep a tidy, organised classroom with accessible resources where needed
• Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school
• Ability to support students, on a whole class, small group and one to one basis, and encourage their progression
• Comply with the schools’ policies and implement effectively

Requirements of a Secondary SchoolTeaching Assistant:

• Recent experience workingas a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school
• Strong communication skills
• A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
• SEND experience is desirable
