Job summary

Hays Education is partnering with a North Birmingham secondary school to recruit an enthusiastic Science Technician for long-term cover. The role runs from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.

You will prepare equipment and materials for biology, chemistry and physics lessons, set up experiments, maintain resources and support teachers and students while ensuring health and safety compliance.

Your new role

The school are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Science Technician to join their successful Secondary School in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality science education across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure practical lessons are prepared safely and effectively, helping to create an engaging learning environment for our students. The role will entail:

You will have experience working in a laboratory, educational setting or scientific environment with good knowledge of health and safety procedures. You will also have strong organisational and time management skills with the he ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also have recent and satisfactory references that Hays can obtain for you.
