Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking a reliable Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Penkridge (ST19). This full-time role supports students inside and outside the classroom, helping them reach their potential in a positive, inclusive environment.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong communication, and the ability to work well in a team. Prior experience with young people is desirable, and relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Confident supporting students within a secondary school setting.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting student development.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience within education are beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering lessons across a range of subjects.
  • Work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to support learning.
  • Encourage student engagement and participation within lessons.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Provide additional support to students who may need extra guidance.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and learning resources.
  • Support students’ academic progress, confidence, and wellbeing.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff across the school.
