Secondary School Headteacher's PA/HR Lead, Based in Winson Green, Birmingham, £17-£18ph

Position: Secondary School Headteacher's PA/HR Lead

Location: Winson Green, Birmingham

Type: Maternity Cover, £17-£18ph

About the Role

A secondary school in North Birmingham is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and dynamic individual to join as the PA to the Headteacher, covering a maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity to support the school's leadership. The role is to start ASAP, working Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, during term time only.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient and confidential administrative support to the Headteacher, including drafting correspondence, papers, and school documents.
  • Attend meetings, prepare agendas, papers, and minutes, and follow up on action points.
  • Maintain the Headteacher's diary, arrange appointments, and prioritize meetings.
  • Arrange travel for the Headteacher.
  • Manage communications on behalf of the Headteacher, ensuring high-quality presentation of documents.
  • Act as the first point of contact for staff, parents, and visitors seeking the Headteacher.
  • Maintain health and safety records, undertake risk assessments, and support site management in health and safety audits.
  • Manage recruitment processes in line with Trust policy, including checks and maintaining the Single Central Record.
  • Monitor staff sickness levels and take appropriate actions.
  • Participate in the induction of new staff and ensure completion of mandatory training.
Candidate Requirements

Previous experience as a PA, preferably within an educational setting or similar, with recent satisfactory references. A current enhanced DBS is required to commence work immediately.
