Tradewind Recruitment are seeking Cover Supervisors in Wigan to support local secondary schools!

As the academic year progresses, the demand for Cover Supervisors in Wigan is increasing, and we are experiencing a high demand for Cover Supervisors across Wigan. We are actively seeking individuals who are interested in working within a school setting and are keen to gain experience managing a classroom.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

A Cover Supervisor is a suitably-trained member of school staff who supervises pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence. The cover supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. The role does not require any active teaching, marking, or planning.

The roles and responsibilities -

1. Supervising work that has been set in accordance with the school policy.
2. Managing the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment.
3. Responding to any questions from pupils about processes and procedures.
4. Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures.
5. Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
6. Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.

To be considered for this role, we will need -

1. Proof of Right to Work, this could be your Passport or Birth Certificate.
2. A CV that covers 10 years of education or employment.
3. A fully enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to process one with us. (We will refund the cost of the DBS.)
