Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a PRU setting in Newcastle on a full-time basis. - The role is based in an inspirational PRU in Newcastle.
- The school supports pupils across primary and secondary age ranges, with opportunities to support all year groups depending on your preference and expertise.
- The school has an outstanding supportive culture and leadership team, where staff collaborate within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours, and Contract:
- Contract – Full-time until the end of the academic year in July 2025. Temporary contract.

About the Role:
- Supporting pupils who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream schools. Pupils may display challenging behavior and have various SEN needs.
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. Pupils' SEN may include ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and PMLD.
- Building rapport and positive relationships with pupils to promote engagement and progress academically and socially.
- Understanding different pupils' needs and learning styles, working closely with teachers and colleagues to tailor support.
Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:
- Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare qualification (preferred)
- Experience working with children in UK schools
- Experience in SEN settings or PRUs (preferred)
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Two professional references covering the last two years
