Physics Teacher – Maternity Cover (Part-Time, 3 Days per Week)

Prospero Teaching are seeking an enthusiastic Physics Teacher to join our dedicated Science Department at a leading independent school in Poole. This part time role is to cover a maternity leave and will involve teaching Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5, including preparation for GCSE and A-Level Physics.

This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a forward-thinking and supportive environment with motivated students and excellent resources.

  • Location: Poole
  • Position: Physics Teacher
  • Start date: After October half term
  • Contract: Temporary
  • Full time/part time: 3 days a week (the days to be confirmed)
  • Hours: 07:30am – 16:00pm (including meetings and parents evenings)
  • Minimum rate of pay: Paid to scale

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • Science or similar graduate, with a 2:2 or higher
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent is essential
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
  • DBS (on the update service)

What you will be doing:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Physics lessons across KS3 – KS5
  • Plan, prepare, and assess pupil’s work in accordance with school policies
  • Contribute to the continued development of the Science curriculum
  • Participate in departmental meetings and school events
