Secondary PE Teacher (PRU/SEMH)

SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a leading provision in Harrow. They are seeking a full-time PE teacher for their secondary pupil referral unit. The role will start in September 2024.

This role would suit a mainstream PE teacher who has a keen interest in transitioning to working within PRU/SEMH provisions, or an experienced SEN/SEMH teacher. Experience in either primary or secondary PE is considered.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The school comprises a primary and secondary pupil referral unit, an outreach team, inclusion support team, and other services. They cater for students aged 5-16 years who are unable to attend mainstream school due to being permanently excluded, or facing physical or mental illness, or other circumstances. It is a multi-agency provision that brings together support services from different fields to support vulnerable young people.

YOU WILL NEED TO

• Have QTS
• Ideally have previous experience in a PRU/SEMH/SEN environment
• Have experience as a primary or secondary PE teacher
• Be calm and empathetic but able to set boundaries
• Be trustworthy and reliable
• Genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
