Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are looking to expand our dedicated team of Integrated Resource Teaching Assistants within the WISENDSS Team. Successfulcandidates will support the integration and inclusion of pupils with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) across our resourceprovisions.

About the Role:

As an Integrated Resource Teaching Assistant, you will work under the guidance of a Teacher in Charge and other key staff members to:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with EHCPs, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum.
  • Implement and deliver the specific provision outlined in each pupil’s EHCP.
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of pupils.

Potential Placement Locations:

Successful candidates will work for the WISENDSS Team and will be placed at one of the following Integrated Resource Provisions:

  • Newlands Primary School, Normanton
  • Moorthorpe Primary School, South Elmsall
  • Methodist Primary School, Wakefield
  • Northfield Primary School, South Kirkby
  • Featherstone Academy, Featherstone
  • St Wilfred’s Academy, Featherstone
  • St Thomas a Becketts Academy, Wakefield Council

Interviews will include a discussion on your preferred work location among the schools listed above.

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:

  • Specialist Knowledge:Experience supporting pupils with ASD, Communication and Interaction needs, or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
  • Education Experience:A background in working with children within an educational setting or other environments that build skills in supporting learning and development.
  • Interpersonal Skills:Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, with the initiative to manage daily responsibilities effectively.
  • Commitment to Inclusion:Understanding of the importance of making reasonable adjustments to ensure all pupils can access learning.
  • Adaptability:Willingness to work across different school settings and respond flexibly to pupil needs.
