Secondary Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Bristol (BS11)

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on students' lives? Aspiring to be a teacher in your future but want to gain hands-on experience first? We're looking for a HLTA to join a mainstream secondary school in Shirehampton, BS11

  • Start ASAP and ongoing in September
  • 95 - 120 per day, depending on experience
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday 8am to 4pm
  • Term time only
  • Accessible by bus 3 / 4 / 11 / 41 or free parking on site

A secondary Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be expected to

  • Work closely with classroom teachers to support the teaching, learning, and assessment of individual students or groups.
  • Ensure the students carry out curriculum tasks set.
  • Carry out intervention tasks to support students lacking confidence
  • Support student participation, behaviour, and engagement
  • Promote the inclusion of all pupils in learning activities to ensure equal and fair learning opportunities.

What we look for in a Secondary Higher Level Teaching Assistant

  • Hold HLTA status or have extensive previous teaching assistance experience
  • Be capable of preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals, smalls groups or the class as a whole.
  • Experience of strong behaviour management within the classroom
  • A passion for working with children, particularly those with special educational needs - ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
