Exciting Career Development Opportunity in Tropical Brunei for Secondary Teachers

CfBT Education Services, part of Education Development Trust, has been collaborating with the Brunei government for 40 years to support its bilingual education policy. We aim to continue providing excellent education during the secondary project, ending December 2026. This is a unique opportunity for secondary English teachers to join this long-standing ESL project for 9-16 months, starting in 2025/2026.

If you are a qualified, experienced secondary English teacher seeking ESL/EAL teaching experience in an international setting and industry-recognized qualifications, we offer the 'Teach and Learn' package, which includes:

• Learning and Development grant: Up to 1/12th of salary upon successful probation completion, for ESL/EAL courses (e.g., Cambridge CELTA, DELTA, TEFL, or Masters in TESOL components).
• Free Instructional Coaching training by expert Tom Sherrington (UK).
• Free membership or International Affiliate status of the Chartered College of Teaching (UK).
• Free training on Cambridge IGCSE ESL and O’ Levels syllabi and exams.

Eligibility criteria:

• Degree from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, UK, South Africa, USA, or an EU country.
• Qualified Teacher Status/teacher accreditation (PGCE, BEd, etc.). A TEFL cert with degree is insufficient.
• Minimum 3 years relevant classroom teaching post-qualification, including at least 1 year teaching English/ESL.
• Willingness to drive; driving test required for Bruneian license.
• Under 55 years old upon arrival.
