Job summary

PK Education Limited in Burton-on-Trent is seeking an enthusiastic Unqualified English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school on a permanent basis.

You will deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects to secondary students, support pupils with SEND, manage classes and assist with reading, writing and maths, while maintaining a positive learning environment. The role offers stability and opportunities to develop teaching skills within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects to secondary students.
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Support individual students, particularly those with SEND or additional needs.
• Work with small groups to help reading, writing, maths, revision or specific subjects.
• Circulate around the classroom to explain tasks, check understanding and encourage students.
• Help with behaviour to reinforce school expectations and de-escalate situations where appropriate.
• Provide 1:1 support and work closely with a particular student who may have an EHCP or require additional assistance.
