Working closely with the Head of Department, the Second in Charge will help to shape the direction of the department, support colleagues, develop teaching and learning and ultimately ensure that our students continue to achieve excellent outcomes. We are looking for someone who combines strong subject expertise with energy, initiative and a genuine commitment to collaborative leadership and who is aforward-thinking, flexible and proactive teacher. You will be an excellent communicator, an enthusiastic team player and someone who enjoys working collaboratively to solve problems, develop ideas and raise standards.

Our Science Department has a strong ethos of sharing good practice, supporting one another and continually seeking to improve. We are looking for someone who will bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm whilst building on the department’s existing strengths.

The successful candidate will be a confident teacher who can teach their specialist science discipline through to A level, whilst also being able to contribute enthusiastically to the wider Science curriculum.
