Our modern, purpose-built home in Bridgwater supports up to 90 residents living with dementia, blending expert care with the latest technology to create a safe, joyful environment. With a 9.6 rating on carehome.co.uk and a “Good” CQC grade, we’re proud of what we’ve built. Now, we’re looking for a passionate Second Chef to help us deliver food that feeds the body and soul.

Rate of pay: £12.21 per hour

Contracted hours: 25 hours per week

What we offer:

  • Uniform provided
  • Free parking
  • Pension
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata)

What This Role Means to Us:
You won’t just be cooking you’ll be helping residents relive memories, celebrate the everyday, and feel truly at home. From Sunday roasts to birthday bakes, you’ll bring skill, heart, and warmth to every plate.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll work closely with our Head Chef, preparing delicious, well-balanced meals tailored to residents’ needs and preferences. You’ll contribute to menu planning, oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, and ensure our high standards for hygiene, safety, and stock management are always met.
About you:
You’ll work side by side with our Head Chef, crafting meals that are balanced, nutritious, and tailored to our residents’ needs and preferences. From Sunday roasts that bring back fond memories to birthday cakes that spark smiles, your work will have heart behind every plate.
There will be times you take the lead – managing the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence, planning menus that celebrate the seasons, and making sure everything runs smoothly, safely, and within budget. You'll help ensure the kitchen is stocked, spotless, and compliant with all food hygiene and health & safety standards.
But most importantly, you’ll be part of a team that works closely together – chefs, carers, nurses, and housekeepers – united by a shared belief that mealtimes are moments to be cherished.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need some professional kitchen experience, preferably in care or hospitality, and ideally hold relevant culinary qualifications and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You’ll bring a calm, collaborative approach, a love of food, and a genuine desire to make a difference to someone’s day every day.
Who We Are:
Casa di Lusso is part of Care Concern Group, a family-owned provider with over 100 care homes across the UK. We’re expanding rapidly and are committed to delivering high-quality care and support to our residents. If you’re ready to take on a rewarding role in a growing and supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you. We believe in delivering care to the highest standard, and our five core values guide everything we do:
Trust | Respect | Passion | Kindness | Inclusivity
These values define who we are and underpin everything we do, from the smallest interaction to the most complex care. If you live by these principles, this is a place where you can belong and truly make a difference.
If you’re ready to bring comfort and joy to our residents through the food you create, we’d love to meet you.
Apply today and help us make every mealtime something special.
