Job summary

Nicholsons is seeking a Second Climbing Arborist to join our arboriculture team in North Aston. This full-time role (40 hours/week, 7:30am–4:30pm) fosters career development in arboriculture and requires safe climbing and a full UK driving licence.

You’ll work closely with Team Leaders and Lead Climbers in a supportive, professional environment. The ideal candidate will have NPTC qualifications, ground crew leadership experience, emergency first aid certificate, and a passion for the outdoors.

Qualifications

• NPTC CS30/31/32/38/39 qualifications and extensive climbing experience.
• Experience in running a ground team and rigging.
• Emergency first aid + F certificate.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Undertake arboricultural operations in a safe and efficient manner, following instructions from Team Leaders and Lead Climbers.
• Support Team Leaders with the organisation of the ground team, setting up sites and keeping sites tidy.
• Perform basic aerial tree work unsupervised and more complex aerial tree work under the guidance of the Team Leaders and Lead Climbers.
• Share knowledge with more junior members of the team to promote best practice.
• Comply with all Health & Safety regulations.

We are looking for a full-time Second Climbing Arborist to join our dedicated arboriculture team in North Aston. The position would suit a highly motivated, hardworking and enthusiastic individual looking to further develop a career in arboriculture. Applicants need to demonstrate safe and competent climbing and have a full UK driving licence. The ability to work well in a team is essential as well as ensuring a high standard of professionalism is always maintained with colleagues and clients.

Key responsibilities:

• Undertake arboricultural operations in a safe and efficient manner, following instructions from Team Leaders and Lead Climbers.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have the relevant NPTC qualifications (i.e: CS 30, 31,32, 38, and 39) and extensive climbing experience.
• Have experience in running a ground team and related rigging requirements.
• Emergency first aid + F certificate.
• Have a passion for the outdoors and the environment.
• Enjoy working in a close-knit team environment.
• Have a full, clean UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• Competency in Brushwood Chipper Operations.
• Towing experience.
• An understanding of British standards relating to tree work.
