Job summary

A prominent care provider in Felixstowe is seeking a compassionate Second Chef to join their kitchen team. You will prepare meals for residents with various dietary needs, assist the head chef, and bring creativity to themed cooking events. Qualifications

  • Experience in working in a professional kitchen is essential.
  • Good organizational skills and knowledge of good kitchen practices required.
  • Previous qualifications in food production preferred but not essential.

  • Support the head chef with menu writing and stock control.
  • Use creativity for theme nights and international dishes.

Second Chef

Maynell House, Felixstowe

£13.35 per hour

30 hours per week including every other weekend

Do you have a passion for preparing and cooking meals and want to help make a difference in people\'s lives?

If you are kind, compassionate and committed, we would love for you to join our kitchen team in our lovely care home, Maynell House, catering for 23 residents.

Maynell House provides residential and respite care to elderly people living in Felixstowe. The home is warm and welcoming - a harmonious atmosphere prevails. The house is a late Victorian Listed building, formerly Felixstowe college, and has been lovingly extended and refurbished to retain its original features.

Responsibilities
  • Liaising with our residents to prepare a variety of home cooked meals in accordance with various allergy and dietary requirements.
  • Supporting the head chef with menu writing, ordering and stock control.
  • Using your creativity for our regular theme nights, where we prepare dishes from around the world.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will have experience in working in a professional kitchen, have good organisational skills and knowledge of good kitchen practices and food hygiene standards. City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications are preferred but not essential as they can be provided through our Academy.
