Second Chef

We are looking for a full-time, permanent Second Chef to join our restaurant team at Howdens Garden Centre.

Our competitive salary depends on experience.

All positions require weekend work, so flexibility is essential.

The Role

As a Second Chef, you will support the Head Chef in all aspects of food production and kitchen cleanliness. You will work within a small team under the Head Chef's guidance, preparing fresh ingredients for our full menu.

Responsibilities include:
  • Preparing hot and cold food orders
  • Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering
  • Working efficiently to minimize waste
  • Cleaning equipment and work areas to high hygiene standards
  • Closing down the kitchen daily and preparing for the next day
