Are you a qualified Chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work-life balance and make your work matter?

Working as a Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus while working with residents to tailor menus around them. Minimum Requirements:

1. A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in residents' wellbeing
2. Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
3. A good understanding of nutrition
4. Experience working with fresh seasonal food
5. The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
6. Confidence engaging with residents to create appetising and nutritious menus
7. Good understanding of HACCP

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
2. Assist the Head Chef in menu development
3. Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes prepared to the highest standards
4. Create a warm, efficient, and fun environment
5. Work within budget
6. Complete regular audits
7. Manage stock control
