Job description

This role is for a Second Chef at a care home operated by Barchester Healthcare. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create nutritious and flavorful meals for the residents, while also enjoying a better work-life balance compared to a traditional hotel or restaurant setting.

Main duties of the job

As a Second Chef at Barchester, you will assist the Head Chef in developing menus, working with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes. You will be responsible for managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, creating a warm and efficient environment, and working within a budget. The role requires a personable and warm approach, a good understanding of nutrition and HACCP, and experience working with fresh, seasonal food.
