Barchester Healthcare is seeking a passionate Second Chef to help deliver fresh, nutritious meals across our homes with a warm, resident-focused approach.

You will support the Head Chef in menu development and create menus around residents’ needs, using fresh seasonal ingredients while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, in a setting that values care and quality above all.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with genuine care for residents.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment in the home.
• Confidence engaging with residents to create appetising, nutritious menus.
• Sound knowledge of HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Assist Head Chef in menu development.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun kitchen environment.
• Work within budget and control costs.
• Complete regular audits.
• Manage stock control.

Are you a qualified Chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

Working as a Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE
