Second Chef

We are looking for a Full Time Permanent Second Chef to join the team in our Restaurant in Brookside Garden Centre.

Our competitive rate of pay for the role is £13.10 per hour.

The hours are 40 per week over 5 days. All positions include regular weekend working so flexibility is a must.

The Role

As a Second Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the operation of all areas of food production and cleaning in the kitchen. You will work as part of a small team under the guidance of the Head Chef and be responsible for the preparation of our fresh ingredients for our full menu range.

What you will be doing as a Second Chef?

  • Prepare fresh ingredients
  • Prepare hot and cold food orders to order
  • Monitor stock levels and contribute towards the ordering process
  • Work efficiently to ensure low levels of waste
  • Carry out cleaning of equipment and working areas to the highest food hygiene standards
  • Close down kitchen each day including preparation for the following day.
