Job description

This is a temporary Second Chef role at a care home operated by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK's leading healthcare providers. The role involves working with the Head Chef to create nutritious and flavorful menus for the residents, while maintaining high standards of quality and delivering a personalized hospitality experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare, you will have the opportunity to work with fresh seasonal ingredients and create menus that cater to the preferences and dietary needs of the residents. You will assist the Head Chef in leading and inspiring the kitchen team, while also managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. Qualifications
  • You will need to hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, and have experience in helping lead and inspire a team. A good understanding of nutrition and experience working with fresh seasonal food are also required.
