Overview

This is a temporary role as a Second Chef at a care home operated by Barchester Healthcare, a leading UK healthcare provider. The successful candidate will have a personable approach, experience in leading a team, and a good understanding of nutrition and HACCP.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus, while working with residents to tailor menus around them.
  • Deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks.
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, lead and inspire a team, and maintain a warm, efficient and safe kitchen environment.
  • Work within budget and complete regular audits; manage stock control.
  • Ensure high-quality, wholesome dishes cooked to the highest standards and maintain HACCP compliance.
