This job role as a Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare offers the opportunity to work with fresh seasonal food and have a better work-life balance. The successful candidate will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious and flavorsome menus while working closely with residents to cater to their preferences. Main duties of the job

The Second Chef will manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, assist with menu development, work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes, and help create a warm, efficient, and fun environment. They will also be responsible for working within budget, completing regular audits, managing stock control, and assisting in leading and motivating a team.

Working as a bank Second Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. Qualifications
  • The successful candidate must hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification, have experience in helping lead and inspire a team, a good understanding of nutrition and working with fresh seasonal food, and a good understanding of HACCP.
