Job description

Pure Care are seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join the catering team at an attractive elderly Care Home in Woking. The core responsibilities will be to deliver high quality, fresh, home cooked meals for the residents, working in an extremely rewarding setting.

Vacancy Reference: PK62670 (Care Home Second Chef)

This is a full time, permanent Second Chef role within an established company paying a fantastic 14.56 per hour! This is working 4 days/week (40 hours), working opposite shifts to the Head Chef. You will have the support of a Kitchen Porter / Kitchen Assistant on each shift.

This role is working in a beautiful 30 bedded Elderly Home that is a part of an award winning care company that has a strong history of supporting and developing their staff. Second Chef candidates will ideally have a valid Food Hygiene Certificate and previous experience of working in a Care Home, School or similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

A good understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH guidelines is required within the Chef role. Qualifications within Catering, Hospitality or Professional Cookery would be looked upon favourably but are not essential.

Care Home Second Chef Main Duties:

• Responsibility for the catering services within the Home on the days you are working
• Cook using fresh ingredients made from scratch as much as possible
• Prepare daily meals, paying particular attention to any special dietary requirements
• Have a full understanding of Health & Safety as well as Food Hygiene issues, COSHH, and working within the guidelines relating to cross infection
