Job summary

The Barnett, a restored Art Deco hotel just steps from the Caesars Superdome, seeks a Food Runner to support the restaurant team during high-volume service. You will deliver orders promptly, maintain cleanliness at the expo line, and assist servers to ensure a smooth dining experience.

Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is valued; strong teamwork and attention to detail are essential. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs is required throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced dining environment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders to guests quickly, accurately, and professionally.
• Ensure dishes are delivered at the correct temperature and presentation.
• Communicate with kitchen staff and servers to maintain smooth service flow.
• Assist servers by clearing plates, refilling beverages, and resetting tables as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line, service stations, and dining areas.
• Help prepare garnishes, sauces, or condiments for service when needed.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with opening, running, and closing side duties.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced dining environment a plus.

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during high-volume service periods.
• Ability to carry trays and deliver food safely and professionally.
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 30–40 lbs. for extended periods.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
