We are looking for a warm and enthusiastic Waiter or Waitress to join our friendly front of house team at our countryside pub, The Cornish Arms in St. Merryn, Cornwall.

Our story

Rick and Jill Stein started our family-run business back in 1975, and today we employ over 600 happy staff. The business has grown from the first flagship seafood restaurant in Padstow to 10 restaurants across the south of England, plus hotel rooms, cookery school, shops, and an online shop. Rick and Jill are still heavily involved in the business, as are their three sons Ed, Jack, and Charlie.

Good to know...

  • Parking – we have free, onsite parking at the Cornish Arms.
  • Travel to work – St Merryn is located on the Newquay bus route, with the bus stop a short walk from our pub. St Merryn is an easy drive along the beautiful coast road from Newquay and a short drive from Padstow and Wadebridge.
  • Uniform – you’ll need smart black shoes and black trousers. We will provide you with a shirt and apron.

The Cornish Arms in St. Merryn offers a simple British pub menu, with dishes like real beef burgers, mussels and chips, and scampi in the basket. In the summer, guests can sit outside in the fresh Cornish air and enjoy some of St Austell Brewery’s best ales and a great selection of wines, or cosy up by our log fires in the colder weather with some comfort food.
