Overview

At The Entertainer, Reading Broad Street, we love to create memories for all customers who come through our doors, helping to find the perfect toy or gift, keeping the shelves full and our stores welcoming. At Christmas, this is no different! With a love of toys, customer service and an enthusiastic personality, you could be the perfect match to join our team as a Seasonal Sales Assistant.

Key Information about this role

Rates of Pay

  • 16-20 year olds - £11.15 per hour.
  • 21-year-old plus - £12.36 per hour.

Contract end date

  • 3rd January 2026.
Hours and availability

Our stores are open 7 days a week, so you will need to be able to support us at weekends including Sundays. The hours available for this store are:

  • 12-hour per week contract: you may work 4-hour shifts over 3 days, or you might be asked to work two 6-hour shifts.
  • 20-hour per week contract: you may typically be working 4-hour shifts over 5 days.

If you are flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and different days of the week, have a great attitude and friendly personality, we can make the hours you are available – work for you and us. Please give as much detail as possible in your application. There may also be an opportunity to work extra hours in this role, depending on trade.

Commitment

As a Seasonal Sales Assistant, you will also be asked to work Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve – these are some of our busiest days of the year.

What we are looking for
  • Reliability and flexibility in what hours you can work; there may be the chance of extra hours if we’re busy.
  • Approachable and confident to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Physically fit and able to move stock around the store, work with deliveries and pallets on your own and as a team.
  • Willing and able to help out in our local Tesco concession space. Merchandising, keeping the shelves full, talking to customers and handling deliveries.
