Overview

To be a Seasonal Sales Assistant at The Entertainer you must be reliable and flexible in what hours you can work, with a chance of extra hours if we’re busy. You should be approachable and confident to deliver excellent customer service. You must be physically fit and able to move stock around the store, work with deliveries and pallets both on your own and as part of a team. You may also be asked to help out in our local Tesco concession space. Merchandising, keeping the shelves full, talking to customers and handling deliveries are part of the role. Holly, Seasonal Sales Assistant from last year, describes a rewarding experience with restocking, pricing accuracy, and helping customers during busy periods. The Entertainer, Cardiff Queens Arcade, loves to create memories for customers by helping to find the perfect toy or gift and keeping the shelves full and welcoming.

Responsibilities
  • Support the store’s day-to-day operations with a focus on customer service and sales.
  • Merchandise shelves, keep stock replenished, and assist with deliveries and pallet handling.
  • Assist in the Tesco concession space as required.
  • Interact with customers to recommend toys and bestsellers, especially during peak periods.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Love of toys, customer service focus, and an enthusiastic personality.
  • Physically able to move stock and assist with deliveries; able to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
  • Flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends; able to support Sundays.
  • Good attitude and clear communication; provide as much detail as possible in your application.
Key Information
  • Rates of Pay: 16-20 year olds £11.00 per hour; 21-year-old plus £12.21 per hour.
  • Contract end date: 3 January 2026.
  • Hours: 12-hour per week contract (typical shifts of 4 hours over 3 days or two 6-hour shifts) or 20-hour per week contract (typical shifts of 4 hours over 5 days).
  • Store hours: 7 days a week; weekend availability including Sundays required.
  • There may be opportunities for extra hours depending on trade.
  • All Seasonal Sales Assistant contracts require working on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve, which are among the busiest days of the year.
