Full-time, 35 hours a week

6 Months Fixed-term contract (15th June - 19th December 2025)

About us

The Scottish Wildlife Trust has worked for over 60 years to promote healthy, resilient ecosystems across Scotland’s land and seas. The Trust advocates for wildlife through policy, practical conservation, partnerships, and public engagement. It manages over 100 wildlife reserves and is part of the UK-wide Wildlife Trusts movement.

The Role:

The Falls of Clyde is the Trust's busiest wildlife reserve. The seasonal ranger supports the Clyde Valley Ranger in engaging visitors and performing reserve tasks. Duties include patrolling, public engagement, practical conservation, biological recording, and supporting educational activities. Working days are Saturday to Wednesday, including occasional evenings.

The successful candidate will:
  • Patrol the reserve and promote safety
  • Perform practical conservation tasks
  • Support the Ranger and volunteers
  • Lead guided walks and events
  • Conduct biological monitoring
  • Assist with environmental education and member recruitment
The Candidate:

We seek an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organizational skills, confidence in public speaking, flexibility, and practical ability. The role involves outdoor work in all weather and requires a reasonable level of fitness.
