Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Seasonal Mail Sorter at the Peterborough Mail Centre to support the peak Christmas period. You will process letters and parcels, unloading and sorting them across busy facilities. No prior warehouse experience is required; just bring enthusiasm and reliability.

Shifts include Lates (14:00–22:00) and Nights (22:00–06:00) with hourly rates of £15.14 and £16.44 respectively, plus various weekend options. On-site facilities may be available depending on location.

Qualifications

• No previous warehouse or mail sorting experience required.
• Be prepared for active, hands-on tasks and standing for long periods.

‘Tis the season to be earning a little extra

As a Seasonal Mail Sorter, you’ll help process millions of cards, gifts, and parcels during our busiest time of year. Your duties will include:

• Unloading letters and parcels from delivery lorries
• Moving mail safely around our sorting centres and warehouses
• Helping sort letters and parcels quickly and accurately

We have a variety of shift patterns available at Peterborough Mail Centre, Papyrus Road, Werrington, PETERBOROUGH, PE4 5PE, including the following core shift patterns:

• Lates: 14:00 - 22:00 (£15.14 p/h)
• Nights: 22:00 - 06:00 (£16.44 p/h)
• Weekends: Various shifts available (as above p/h)

Please note, night shifts are not available to applicants under 18 years old.

Depending on location, you may have access to facilities such as on-site canteens, break areas, social spaces and subsidised gym facilities.

What You’ll Need To Join The Team

You don’t need any previous warehouse operative, mail or parcel sorting experience. We’re looking for people who:

• Have a positive attitude and team spirit.
• Are organised and able to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Enjoy active, hands-on work, including working on your feet, pushing / pulling trolleys (up to 250kg with wheels!), and handling items up to 11kg.
• Are flexible and happy to switch tasks when needed.
