Job description

British Sugar is a home-grown success story and one of the most efficient and competitive beet processers in the world. Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. Hourly rate: £13.38 per hour

Pattern: 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm

The position is TEMPORARY, employment will run from September 2025 to March 2026 (to be confirmed)

Main Scope of Role

Sampling process streams across a large manufacturing site, carrying out both routine and ad-hoc analysis to support process development and optimisation.

Key Areas

Candidates Will Be Expected To Perform The Following

• Safe collection of manufacturing samples from the factory.
• Updating of laboratory sample inventory.
• Carry out specific sample preparation and analysis methods according to instruction in a safe manner.
• Accurate and organised recording of results.
• Flagging and discussion of issues and observations.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment to ensure smooth running.
• Engage and cooperate with other team members to deliver on a dynamic work schedule.
• Travel with team members to other British Sugar sites

Previous experience working in the laboratory environment.
