Job summary

Field Studies Council is seeking a tutor to deliver Geography, Biology and Environmental Science field trips and a range of outdoor education experiences for school groups, colleges, universities, families and adult learners.

You will plan sessions, adapt activities for various learners, and ensure safety and inclusion, while helping develop new activities with a supportive education team. The role includes supporting the education centre during non-field weeks, which can be busy yet rewarding.

Qualifications

• You’ll have a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and some experience of teaching or tutoring.
• You’ll be confident planning sessions, preparing learning resources, and engaging a wide range of learners.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum, Geography and Biology specifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Geography, Biology, Environmental Science field trips and a wide range of outdoor education experiences for school groups, colleges, universities, families, and adult learners.
• Plan and deliver sessions, adapt activities for different learners, and ensure safety and inclusivity.
• Contribute to development of new activities and work with the education team to improve offerings.
• Support the busy education centre when not in the field; weeks can be busy and demanding but rewarding.
