Job summary

Nottingham Playhouse is seeking Seasonal Customer Experience Assistants to join our Customer Experience team during a busy festive period. You’ll help serve at bars and kiosks, check tickets, assist with seating and merchandise, and ensure a welcoming, safe environment for all visitors.

We value friendly, reliable individuals with customer-facing or hospitality experience. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays is essential, and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing or hospitality environments is desirable.
• Able to deliver friendly and professional service in a busy environment.
• Willingness to work across different areas (bars, kiosks, auditorium).

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors and provide friendly, professional service.
• Serve food and drinks across bars, kiosks and events.
• Assist with seating and ticket checking in the auditorium.
• Answer questions and provide information to customers.
• Sell programmes, merchandise and confectionery.
• Operate tills and card payments accurately.
• Restock and maintain Food & Beverage areas.

Join our Customer Experience team this festive season

Nottingham Playhouse is looking for friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Seasonal Customer Experience Assistants to join our team and help us deliver an outstanding experience for our audiences and visitors.

As a Customer Experience Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of the action, helping to create a warm, welcoming and memorable experience for everyone who comes through our doors.

Working across our Food & Beverage and Audience teams, you could be serving customers at our bars and kiosks, helping audiences find their seats, checking tickets, selling programmes and merchandise, answering questions or supporting the safe and smooth running of performances and events.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two shifts are quite the same.

About the role

You’ll work as part of our Customer Experience team across the public areas of Nottingham Playhouse, helping us to deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of safety, presentation and hospitality.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming visitors and providing friendly, inclusive and professional customer service.
• Serving food and drinks across our bars, kiosks and hospitality events.
• Supporting audiences entering and leaving the auditorium, including checking tickets and assisting with seating.
• Providing information and responding to customer enquiries.
• Selling programmes, merchandise and confectionery.
• Operating tills, EPOS and card payment systems accurately.
• Preparing, restocking and maintaining our Food & Beverage areas.
• Helping to maintain clean, safe and welcoming public spaces.
• Supporting audience safety and emergency procedures.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to make sure performances, events and hospitality activities run smoothly.

About you

We’re looking for people who enjoy working with the public and are passionate about providing a great customer experience.

You’ll ideally have previous experience in a customer-facing or hospitality environment, although experience within theatre, events or leisure is desirable rather than essential.

You’ll be:

• A confident communicator with a warm and professional approach.
• Friendly, reliable and positive, including when things get busy.
• Comfortable working as part of a team.
• Flexible and happy to move between bar, kiosk and auditorium duties.
• Able to follow procedures and work safely and responsibly.
• Committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming experience for everyone.
• Available to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Experience using tills or EPOS systems and handling cash would be beneficial.
