Job summary

The Best Connection Group Limited is recruiting Class 2 g ritter drivers for Burnley’s winter maintenance season. This seasonal role runs mid-October 2026 to April 2027, with immediate interviews. Training is provided; long standby periods involve night shifts and on-call duties to keep local roads safe during frost and snow.

Pay rates are £15.07 per hour (day) and £18.83 per hour (night) with standby pay. Typical rota is 1 week on / 3 weeks off.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months Class 2 driving experience.
• Valid Class 2 / Cat C licence.
• Must be available for standby rota.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 2 gritting vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Complete assigned gritting routes.
• Carry out vehicle checks before and after operations.
