Job summary

Whitehall Garden Centre Ltd in Lacock is seeking a Seasonal Assistant for the Christmas Department. You will deliver friendly customer service, greet shoppers, and help with stock and layout in a fast-paced festive environment.

Weekend shifts and part-time or full-time options are available, with a seasonal contract running through to 3 January 2027. You will contribute to attractive merchandising and a welcoming shopping atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and offer assistance
• Answer queries courteously and efficiently
• Identify customer needs and act accordingly
• Maintain knowledge of centre layout and stock
• Ensure high merchandising and housekeeping standards
• Follow Whitehall’s health & safety guidelines
• Pack items carefully to avoid damage
• Assist in setup of the Christmas Department, stock and pricing
• Ensure trolleys and baskets are available
• Coordinate with staff and third parties as needed

An exciting seasonal opportunity has arisen within our Lacock branch to be part of an inspirational team as a Seasonal Assistant in our Christmas Department.

The ideal candidates will have a passion for customer service, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and great motivation are essential to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Full and part time shifts available, will include weekend working until 3rd Jan 2027

Seasonal Assistant Christmas Department responsibilities

Ensuring all customers are greeted and offered assistanceHandling customer queries courteously and efficientlyIdentifying customer needs through interaction, and taking appropriate actionMaintaining good, up-to-date knowledge of the layout of the centreExcellent standard of merchandising and housekeeping are established and maintains in accordance with company guidelinesEnsure personal compliance with Whitehall’s H&S guidelinePacking of goods is carried out in a professional manner taking care not to damage items.Maintains a harmonious and cooperative relationship with staff, managers and third partiesTrolleys and baskets always availableAssisting in the set up of the Christmas Department, including putting out stock and pricing. Attention to detail and good accuracy required.
