Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is recruiting for Cleansing Operatives in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. You will join a small team responsible for street cleansing and environmental services across Scarborough and nearby areas.

The role requires physical outdoor work and the ability to work in all weather conditions. You will be involved in litter collection, bin maintenance, graffiti removal and public space upkeep, with full training provided and a driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK driving licence
• Previous experience welcome but training provided

Responsibilities

• Litter picking and cleansing public spaces
• Emptying litter and recycling bins
• Graffiti removal
• Cleaning and maintaining public conveniences
• Supporting the cleanliness of streets, footpaths, parks and open spaces
• Assisting during flood events, including distribution of sandbags
• Investigating illegally dumped waste to support enforcement action
• Supporting waste and recycling collection services when operationally required
