Job summary

Sphere Digital Recruitment Group is seeking a hands-on Technical SEO Manager in Manchester to lead technical SEO delivery across a portfolio of clients. You will combine strong technical SEO expertise with confident client and account management.

You will cover audits, migrations, crawlability, schema, JavaScript rendering, international SEO and performance monitoring, while collaborating with account teams and leveraging AI-driven tools to improve results.

Technical SEO Manager | Manchester

We are hiring for a Technical SEO Manager to join an established digital agency in Manchester.

This is hands-on technical SEO role for someone who can combine strong technical expertise with confident client and account management. You will work across a portfolio of clients, developing and delivering technical SEO strategies that directly improve organic performance and commercial results.

The role will cover:

• Technical SEO audits, health checks and website migrations
• Crawlability, indexation and site architecture
• Core Web Vitals and site performance
• Schema and structured data
• JavaScript rendering and technical diagnostics
• International SEO
• Server log analysis and crawl data
• Technical SEO strategy and implementation
• Monitoring organic performance and identifying opportunities
• Presenting technical recommendations and performance insights to clients
• Working closely with account teams and other digital specialists
• Using automation, AI and emerging search technologies to improve SEO delivery
• Supporting AI Search and LLM visibility strategies

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong hands-on Technical SEO experience, ideally within an agency or consultancy
• Experience managing technical SEO across multiple client accounts
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with technical audits, migrations and complex websites
• Knowledge of tools such as Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, GA4 and Looker Studio
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Confidence translating complex technical issues into clear commercial recommendations
• An understanding of AI Search, LLMs and the changing search landscape
