Job Title: Sea Import Clerk

We are working with a global Freight Forwarding company seeking a Sea Import Clerk to join their team in Essex due to expansion.

Role Overview

The Sea Import Clerk manages the import process from start to finish, including using the in-house system, submitting Customs entries via CDS, booking deliveries with hauliers, and keeping clients informed of delivery progress.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure all import jobs are completed accurately and efficiently.
2. Compile and enter import documentation and clearance into the CDS.
3. Monitor cargo movements from origin to destination.
4. Provide quotes for new business and secure cost-effective services.
5. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience in the Seafreight industry at a similar level. Experience with Sea/Ocean freight and a solid understanding of import freight clearances are highly desirable.

Skills and Experience

• Understanding of import regulations and customs procedures for ocean and road shipments.
• Experience handling import documentation and coordinating with customs agents.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
