Abacus is looking for a Sea Logistics Customer Care Specialist in the Boston, MA area.

The Sea Logistics Import Coordinator is responsible for processing Sea Logistics shipments with high accuracy by using proprietary forwarding applications. Execution shall be performed in line with company operational procedures, Sea Logistics standards, and compliance guidelines, with a focus on operational excellence and customer service in collaboration with other team members.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate with shippers, truckers, and steamship lines for the import of shipments; including cargo collection, inland transportation, booking, document preparation, tracking, data quality, problem resolution, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  2. Ensure data accuracy, review shipping instructions, and clarify deviations considering country regulations, import compliance, and routing information.
  3. Ensure compliance with US Trade Control Laws, manage document quality, proofread commercial documents, and handle vendor management and exceptions.
  4. Monitor carrier and vendor performance, escalate issues, and ensure client requirements are met, including handling data input, customer inquiries, and maintaining high customer service standards.
  5. Maintain communication with all stakeholders, manage customer contacts regarding exceptions, and oversee file maintenance, billing, job costing, and KPI tracking.
  6. Resolve billing discrepancies, manage credit notes, and ensure timely distribution of documents.
  7. Address rate discrepancies, report operational issues, and work with sales to ensure smooth account transitions, adhering to quality and safety procedures.
