Job summary

White Recruitment Construction in Chelmsford is seeking an experienced Sea Freight Forwarder to manage sea freight import operations end-to-end, liaising with clients, suppliers and shipping lines.

Salary up to £35,000pa DOE. Working hours: Monday-Friday (8:30am – 5:00pm). Benefits include a contributory pension, 20 days holiday + banks increasing to 25, healthcare after probation, an excellent training programme, and opportunities for progression within the company.

Qualifications

• Experience in Sea Freight Import operations is essential.
• Strong understanding of the Sea Freight Import process.
• Import operations experience for both FCL and LCL.
• Experience liaising with shipping lines, overseas agents and hauliers.
• Pricing and negotiation experience desirable.
• Excellent customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day Sea Freight Import operations, start-to-finish.
• Raising Job files and all of the appropriate operations paperwork.
• Extensive supplier and client liaison and negotiation.
• Liaising with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customs agents.
• Managing import documentation, customs clearances and delivery arrangements.
• Internal liaison with the sales team assisting with quotations and service information.

My client is looking for an experienced Sea Freight Forwarder to join their team based in Chelmsford. The right candidate will have strong experience dealing with Sea Freight Import operations, managing shipments from start to finish and liaising with clients, suppliers and shipping lines.
