The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the transport and distribution of materials while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal systems. Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Logistics background with a focus on sea freight.
  • Knowledge of Import and Export documentation, including ATA Carnets.
  • Experience operating forklifts and hazardous goods compliance.

Job description

We are recruiting for a Sea Freight Coordinator to join our Stock Control and Distribution team based at our Biggin Hill office.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate the transport and distribution of company equipment worldwide, including hazardous goods in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
  • Operate plant, including forklifts as required and when qualified to do so.
  • To accurately prepare appropriate shipping documentation and declarations when required.
  • Act as a point of contact for sea freight enquiries and requirements.
  • Liaise with logistics partners and providers, including regulatory bodies when required, and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Ensure continued compliance per the company’s Known Consignor Security Program and Security policies.
  • Contribution towards and preparing reports for relating to freight & sustainability
  • Maintain awareness of and be able to advise on the implications of applicable freight legislation, investigating shipping options to meet targets while ensuring compliance across the company
  • Contribution towards the development and updating of internal systems and processes relating to company freight and distribution, including stock control and asset tracking.
  • Contribution towards logistics planning and budget preparation.
  • Monitor and report on work undertaken, regularly updating the Head of Department.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken safely in accordance with current best practice and H&S protocols.
  • Experience working with warehouse management software and stock control systems.
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness certification
  • Experience working in a Logistics background with a focus on sea freight
  • Import and Export documentation, including ATA Carnets
