Job description

The Sea Ceptor Weapon Systems team is expanding and seeks a Systems Engineer to deliver verification activity to support multiple customers.

Salary: Up to £57,000 Depending on Experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity:

Sea Ceptor is a successful, growing, high-profile maritime air defence system with multiple UK and export contracts. The role involves delivering Sea Ceptor to multiple customers simultaneously, managing adaptations for export clients.

This position is within the Weapon Systems Design & Verification team, supporting verification activities for both export and domestic customers. Responsibilities include task planning, budgeting, management, and ensuring activities are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key tasks may include:

  • Supporting and reviewing subsystem evidence and outputs for systems activities
  • Generating and maintaining non-compliance reports
  • Maintaining and reporting on Certification and Modification Registers
  • Managing verification and validation activities
  • Supporting documentation generation (e.g., Trials Requirement Documents, Product Trials Clearance Certificates) and review closures
  • Supporting system-level compliance evidence and certification, including verification documentation like Compliance Matrices and Certificates of Design

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in the Systems Engineering lifecycle, particularly formal verification and certification processes
  • Proactive, flexible delivery focus across multiple programmes with shifting priorities
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing programme priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, effective team player in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of DOORS is required
