Job summary

Source Group International in Banbury (Hybrid) is seeking an SDET to join a full-time engineering team. You will lead testing activities, design and maintain automated test suites, and contribute to the codebase alongside developers.

The role supports CI/CD pipelines and effective deployment practices across complex systems. The ideal candidate has strong JS/TS skills, experience with test automation, and a solid understanding of QA methodologies within Agile environments.

Qualifications

• Experience as an SDET, SWE in Test, or QA Automation Engineer.
• Strong software engineering mindset with focus on quality and test automation.
• Experience in Agile product development teams.
• Experience contributing to large-scale application modernisation or transformation programmes.
• Comfortable with modern and legacy systems.
• Understanding of SDLC, testing strategies and quality assurance best practices.
• Experience collaborating with developers, product managers, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead testing activities within a cross-functional engineering team.
• Define and establish testing standards, approaches, and best practices.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites.
• Contribute directly to the application codebase alongside software engineers.

• Participate in code reviews and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure high levels of software quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Background

• Experience as an SDET, Software Engineer in Test, or QA Automation Engineer
• Strong software engineering mindset with a passion for quality and test automation
• Experience working within Agile product development teams
• Experience contributing to large-scale application modernisation or transformation programmes
• Comfortable working with both modern and complex legacy systems
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, testing strategies, and quality assurance best practices
• Experience collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and engineering teams

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on development experience with:
