Job summary

SGI is seeking an SDET to lead testing within a cross-functional engineering team. You will define standards, build automated test suites, and contribute to the codebase. You will support CI/CD pipelines and releases while participating in code reviews to ensure quality across the lifecycle.

The role emphasizes collaboration with developers and product managers on large-scale transformation programmes, with a hybrid Banbury-based setup.

Qualifications

• Experience as an SDET, SWE in Test, or QA Automation Engineer.
• Strong software engineering mindset with a passion for quality and test automation.
• Experience in Agile product development teams.
• Experience modernising large-scale applications or transformations.
• Comfortable with complex legacy systems.
• Understanding of SDLC, testing strategies and QA best practices.
• Collaborates with developers, product managers and engineering teams.

• Lead testing activities within a cross-functional engineering team.

Type: Full-Time

Required Background

• Experience as an SDET, Software Engineer in Test, or QA Automation Engineer
• Strong software engineering mindset with a passion for quality and test automation
• Experience working within Agile product development teams
• Experience contributing to large-scale application modernisation or transformation programmes
• Comfortable working with both modern and complex legacy systems
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, testing strategies, and quality assurance best practices
• Experience collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and engineering teams

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on development experience with:
  • JavaScript
  • TypeScript
• Automated testing design and implementation
• CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
