Qualifications

  • General, Orthopaedics, Spinal experience required.

Role: Scrub Theatre Practitioner
Location: The Wellington Hospital
Hours: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday-Saturday, 4 or 5 days a week, Occasional Saturdays.
Salary: Competitive + allowances + Golden Hello

We are looking for a Scrub Theatre Practitioner to join our Theatre department at The Wellington Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. The theatres across our facilities, provide a vibrant, exciting and professional environment where the advance equipment and technology is second to none.

The Wellington Hospital provides the highest level of care for patients who are looking for the best treatment in key areas of healthcare, including: neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology and cancer care. They have 13 Theatres across 3 buildings covering multiplesurgical specialties. Successful candidates will be part of a large theatre team of colleagues, experienced professionals. The Wellington Hospital has a successful track record of career progression, offering support, and development to those seeking to aspire higher or widen their knowledge. Including offer a Surgical First Assistant Course.

What you will do:

Provide high-quality care to patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures.

Organise theatre lists and set up theatres.

Preparing and maintaining the sterile field, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative period.

Working as a team member in all areas of the theatre suite, sharing knowledge and information and supporting colleagues, to promote a cohesive team and the achievement of team objectives.

What you will bring:

Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practioner

Current HCPC Registration or NMC Registration / NMC Pin

Experience working as a Scrub Theatre Practitioner in an Operating Theatre

General, Orthopaedics, Spinal experience

Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills.
